Lavender essential oil is my go to on my skin and in my water for imflammation, and it smells DAMN GOOD!
If you saw my Instagram post, you know how obsessed I am with lavender essential oil.
"The year we got #married, I became OBSESSED with the scent of lavender. I got my hands on anything lavender scented or flavored. And the addiction has not subsided.
It slowly became a part of my self-care routine. I would diffuse the oil or even wear it to stay level-headed, calm, and to trick myself into deep breathing.
What I didn't know until more recently is the anti-inflammatory effect lavender has on the body both topically and internally.
Inflammation has been my #1 health struggle for over half of my life.
Once I found this out, it felt as if lavender and I were really meant to be together."

More recently, lavender essential oil is used as an aromatherapy oil, in gels, infusions, lotions, soaps, baby products, and candles.

Lavender essential oil relieves stress and anxiety.
The relaxing scent of lavender is known to be calming and can often relieve "migraines, headaches, depression, nervous tension and emotional stress. The refreshing aroma removes nervous exhaustion and restlessness while also increasing mental activity. It has a well-researched impact on the autonomic nervous system, which is why it is frequently used as a treatment for insomnia and also as a way to regulate heart-rate variability. One study showed that people taking tests showed a significant decrease in mental stress and anxiety, as well as increased cognitive function when they inhaled lavender oil and rosemary oil before taking the test."
Lavender essential oil treats acne.
"Pure lavender essential oil inhibits the bacteria that cause the initial infection, helps to regulate some of the over-excretion of sebum by hormonal manipulation and can reduce the signs of scarring after the acne has begun to heal. Adding a small amount of lavender essential oil to other skin creams or ointments can greatly increase the potential for relief and healing."
